Sage Intacct 2026 Release Notes R2

Sage Intacct has released their 2026 R2 Release Notes and we are pleased to share an overview with you. This update introduces a range of improvements designed to enhance your Sage Intacct experience. In this article we have included our top three release updates, along with the single update we see as the standout for Forpoint Solutions Australia customers. If you would like to explore any of these changes in more detail, your Forpoint Solutions Account Manager is available to support you.

🥇 Introducing the Sage Intacct AI Gateway

The Sage Intacct AI Gateway enables developers to build AI solutions integrating with Sage Intacct through REST APIs or the Intacct MCP Server. Sage Intacct AI Gateway securely connects Sage Intacct to modern AI agents like Microsoft Copilot and Claude via standard APIs, providing governed, real‑time access to core financial data. It offers read‑only querying through a natural language interface, translating business questions into structured queries, with OAuth 2.0 authentication and robust token management. Coverage spans key finance functions such as AP, AR, GL, Cash Management, Purchasing, and Order Entry, with advanced capabilities including filtering, sorting, pagination, and aggregation, all without exporting or duplicating data outside the finance system.

🥈 Enhancements to embedded Customer Payment Services

The embedded Customer Payment Services feature helps accelerate cash flow by allowing customers to pay invoices electronically through a secure link embedded in emailed invoices. This self‑service experience streamlines accounts receivable by enabling faster, more accurate payments across multiple invoices, with automated tracking, real‑time visibility, and clear audit trails. It improves customer convenience, reduces manual effort, supports flexible email templates.

🥉 Process customer refund payments through Accounts Payable

This release improves customer refund processing by linking Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable workflows, allowing refunds created in AR to automatically generate linked AP bills for payment. This approach enforces clear segregation of duties, with AR teams initiating refunds and AP teams handling payments, while providing full traceability across refunds, bills, and payments for stronger controls and easier tracking.

Sage Intacct 2026 Release Notes R1

3. AI Powered Import Agents

The Sage Intacct import service provides a structured, user-friendly workflow for importing data into Intacct.

The import service now has AI tools to transform your data in the import service workspace, and enhanced mapping to make your imports easier.

 Key benefits

  • Saves time: No more manual data tweaks. Describe the changes that you want to see and let the AI agent to do the heavy lifting.
  • Ensures accuracy: Preview and rollback features help ensure that your data is correct before it’s imported into Intacct.
  • Boosts productivity: Easily handle complex mapping scenarios, like splitting a full name into first, middle, and last names, or combining columns to create new values.

AI-powered enhanced mapping

Enhanced mapping allows you to split or join fields, map one source field to multiple destinations, and even generate new values (like creating email addresses from names).

For example, let’s suppose that you’re importing new Contacts but all you have are first and last names as the contact ID. With this information, you can populate the Contact name, First name, and Last name fields by using the enhanced mapping.

AI-powered Transform

Use natural language with the AI-powered Transform agent to change or update your data before you import it into Intacct.

AI Transform streamlines data cleanup during import. Tell it what you need done, such as removing prefixes or splitting field, and it updates the data for you. You’ll get a preview of the changes before they’re applied.

In this example, after loading Contact data, you notice the Print as field is blank. Use Transform to automatically fill it in.

2. GL account reconciliations

This feature makes it simpler and faster to match offsetting debit and credit entry lines, resulting in more efficient reviews. We’ve also added a new GL account reconciliations activity report.

Invoice total, including taxes and added charges: This method applies the discount to the invoice total, including all line items, taxes, shipping, and other charges. This method is the default selection.

Key benefits

  • Makes it easy to find unmatched entries so that you can focus on exceptions.
  • Improves audit clarity with a documented history of matched lines.

Forpoint Solutions Top Pick – Manage Projects

The new Manage Projects feature allows you to filter projects and update multiple project fields across several projects simultaneously with efficiency and ease.

Manage Projects allows you to update any number of records across multiple projects in one simple procedure. With this new feature, you can:

  •   Filter projects by criteria, such as status or date.
  •   Select multiple projects and apply bulk edits intuitively using an interactive interface.
  •   Execute updates as offline jobs with detailed logs for completion and error reporting.
  •   Implement permission controls and validation checks to ensure optimum security.

For example, at the end of the year you might want to change the status of projects that were completed in that year. To do this, you can filter for a completed status with an end date before the new year. Then select all the projects, change the status to inactive, and update the selected projects to the new status.

Key benefits

  •   Enhanced scalability and improved project performance.
  •   Increased productivity for Project Managers and Controllers.
  •   Easily filter for projects that need to be updated.
  •   Efficiently update any number of records across multiple projects with ease.

Finance Transformation in Australian Hotels – 5 Key insights for 2025

Finance Transformation in Australian Hotels – 5 Key insights for 2025

As 2025 begins, Australia’s hotel sector faces a pivotal moment. With shifting guest preferences, economic fluctuations, and a competitive landscape, the importance of finance transformation has never been clearer. Embracing innovative financial strategies and technologies is not only a response to industry demands but a critical enabler for growth and resilience.

  1. Economic and Investment Trends:
    • Lower interest rates and improved lender sentiment in 2025 are spurring increased hotel investments.
    • Urban markets are expected to dominate, but secondary suburban markets and extended-stay hotels are emerging as key investment areas.
    • A return to mid-sized investment deals ($50-$150 million) will help stabilise the market.
  2. Evolving Travel Preferences:
    • Group travel, particularly for corporate meetings and sports tourism, is a significant revenue driver.
    • Multigenerational family travel is growing, with families booking multiple rooms and utilising diverse hotel services.
    • Blended leisure (“bleisure”) travel is on the rise, with extended stays combining work and leisure.
  3. Demand for Cultural and Wellness Experiences:
    • Guests increasingly value culturally immersive and locally authentic experiences, both within and outside the hotel.
    • High-tech wellness amenities such as IV drip therapy, biomarker testing, and smart technologies are becoming standard in luxury hotels.
  4. Renovation and Modernisation:
    • Renovations dominate construction pipelines, driven by overdue property improvements and increased transactions.
    • Efficiency upgrades like automation, mobile apps, and energy-efficient systems are priorities.
  5. Sustainability and DEI Initiatives:
    • Hotels must focus on sustainability, DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion), and community service to attract planners and guests.

Preparing for a Bright Future

The Australian hotel sector stands at a transformative crossroads. To thrive in 2025 and beyond, it must adapt to shifting economic conditions, evolving guest demands, and increasing competition from global markets. At the heart of this transformation lies the need for robust financial systems that enable agility, scalability, and informed decision-making. By embracing finance transformation, hotels can unlock new opportunities and future-proof their operations. Here’s how:

Embracing Advanced Financial Technologies

The adoption of cloud-based financial platforms empowers hotels to make data-driven decisions in real-time.

These tools provide:

  • Dynamic Forecasting: Accurately predict revenue, expenses, and investment returns to align with fluctuating market demands.
  • Scenario Modeling: Plan for contingencies, from economic shifts to unexpected travel trends, ensuring the business remains resilient.
  • Integrated Reporting: Streamline operations by connecting financial, operational, and sales data into a unified system, reducing manual errors and improving efficiency.

For hotels navigating complex investment landscapes or planning significant renovations, these capabilities are game-changing.

 Strengthening Revenue Management

In 2025, group travel, multigenerational stays, and “bleisure” trips are poised to drive hotel revenues. However, capturing these opportunities requires flexible pricing strategies and a deep understanding of customer behaviors.

Finance transformation allows hotels to:

  • Analyse booking patterns and optimise pricing for peak and off-peak periods.
  • Develop targeted packages for diverse guest segments, such as family-friendly or corporate-oriented offerings.
  • Monitor real-time revenue performance to quickly adapt to demand fluctuations.

Hotels equipped with modern revenue management systems can maintain profitability while delivering value-driven experiences to their guests.

Strategic Renovation and Sustainability Investments

Renovation is a key theme in 2025, with many properties overdue for updates to meet modern standards and guest expectations. Simultaneously, sustainability is no longer optional—it is an imperative for securing both guests and event planners who prioritize eco-consciousness.

  • Budget Optimisation: Allocate funds effectively across multiple projects, balancing immediate needs with long-term goals.
  • Sustainability ROI Tracking: Measure the financial impact of green initiatives, such as energy-efficient lighting, solar power installations, and water-saving technologies.
  • Streamlined Capital Management: Access detailed cash flow insights to ensure projects remain on time and within budget.

By aligning financial planning with sustainability goals, hotels can attract a new generation of travelers and set a benchmark for environmental stewardship.

Delivering Unmatched Guest Experiences

Today’s travelers are looking for more than just a stay—they seek memorable experiences that blend local culture, wellness, and convenience.

  • Invest in Innovation: Use data-driven insights to prioritize investments in amenities like high-tech wellness solutions, personalized concierge services, and immersive local dining experiences.
  • Enhance Flexibility: Offer customized packages that cater to individual guest preferences, whether for extended family trips, corporate retreats, or solo wellness escapes.
  • Improve Operational Efficiency: Automate routine financial tasks, freeing up resources to focus on enhancing the guest experience.

Hotels that prioritise unique, authentic, and high-quality experiences will cultivate guest loyalty and drive repeat business.

Leveraging Global Trends to Local Advantage

As international travel resumes and global trends like “bleisure” and sports tourism gain traction, Australian hotels are uniquely positioned to capture this demand.

To maximize this potential, finance transformation enables:

  • Market-Specific Insights: Analyse global trends and adapt strategies to attract international travelers while catering to local preferences.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with sports organisations, cultural groups, and local businesses to create tailored experiences that draw diverse visitor groups.
  • Agility in Investment: Redirect resources to high-performing sectors, such as urban hubs or extended-stay properties, as market demands evolve.

By staying attuned to global shifts while emphasising local authenticity, Australian hotels can secure their place as world-class destinations.

In a rapidly changing world, the Australian hotel sector has immense potential to lead the global hospitality industry. Finance transformation is not merely about upgrading systems; it’s about equipping hotels with the tools to innovate, adapt, and excel. By investing in advanced financial technologies, adopting sustainable practices, and delivering exceptional guest experiences, hotels can position themselves as resilient, forward-thinking businesses.

The journey to a bright future begins with strategic decision-making, powered by modern financial systems. With the right foundation in place, Australian hotels can not only meet the challenges of 2025 but also set the stage for enduring success in the years ahead.
