Sage Intacct has released their 2026 R2 Release Notes and we are pleased to share an overview with you. This update introduces a range of improvements designed to enhance your Sage Intacct experience. In this article we have included our top three release updates, along with the single update we see as the standout for Forpoint Solutions Australia customers. 🥇 Introducing the Sage Intacct AI Gateway

The Sage Intacct AI Gateway enables developers to build AI solutions integrating with Sage Intacct through REST APIs or the Intacct MCP Server. Sage Intacct AI Gateway securely connects Sage Intacct to modern AI agents like Microsoft Copilot and Claude via standard APIs, providing governed, real‑time access to core financial data. It offers read‑only querying through a natural language interface, translating business questions into structured queries, with OAuth 2.0 authentication and robust token management. Coverage spans key finance functions such as AP, AR, GL, Cash Management, Purchasing, and Order Entry, with advanced capabilities including filtering, sorting, pagination, and aggregation, all without exporting or duplicating data outside the finance system.

 

 

🥈 Enhancements to embedded Customer Payment Services

The embedded Customer Payment Services feature helps accelerate cash flow by allowing customers to pay invoices electronically through a secure link embedded in emailed invoices. This self‑service experience streamlines accounts receivable by enabling faster, more accurate payments across multiple invoices, with automated tracking, real‑time visibility, and clear audit trails. It improves customer convenience, reduces manual effort, supports flexible email templates.

 

 

🥉 Process customer refund payments through Accounts Payable

This release improves customer refund processing by linking Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable workflows, allowing refunds created in AR to automatically generate linked AP bills for payment. This approach enforces clear segregation of duties, with AR teams initiating refunds and AP teams handling payments, while providing full traceability across refunds, bills, and payments for stronger controls and easier tracking.
